Time to get your bake on!

We love cake (almost) as much as we love cool digital designs. Because sharing is caring here’s an awesome recipe for American chocolate brownies which I am sure you and the family will love. Each month we will share our favourite cake recipe with you guys, this month its my absolute favourite, chocolate brownie…

Mmmmm chocolate (spoken in Anna from Frozen voice)

So, c’mon it’s time to get your bake on!

This brownie is more rock ’n’ roll than Elvis and has a super soft and irresistibly gooey chocolatey middle.  Plus, they are so easy even a Nailed It competitor could, well.. umm, nail it?

Try out the recipe and take a snap of your creation and post on IG using #socialologybakeon

What you need:

200ml vegetable oil

150g golden granulated sugar

100g dark brown soft sugar

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

3 medium eggs

60g cocoa powder

100g self-raising flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon sodium bicarbonate

100g chocolate chips (milk, white or dark – you decide!)

Optional decoration – use as much melted chocolate as you want or serve warm with vanilla ice cream. nom nom nom.

What you need to do:

  1. Preheat the oven to 108 degrees c (165 degrees c fan assisted) 350F or gas mark 4. Prepare a 20 x 25 cm baking tin (or something of a similar size)
  2. Put all the ingredients into a large mixing bowl and beat well until all combined.
  3. Spoon mixture into the tin and bake for 20-25 minutes.
  4. Let the brownies cool in the tin (unless you can’t wait and want to eat them warm). Turn out and decorate with melted chocolate or you can just sieve a little icing sugar if you want to look super sophisticated.

Now don’t forget to take a snap of your creation and post on the ‘gram using #socialologybakeon
